Spring Time at the Zoo!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Have you ever been to the zoo in Atlanta? I went with my Tia Chelsea (Tia means aunt in Spanish) I have been to the zoo about ten times so far.  I always see the flamingos first. They are pink but did you know that baby flamingos are actually white?

It was super cool to go to the zoo.  I saw naked mole-rats, elephants, and tigers. I saw a bunch of turtles.

There were crafts at the zoo I could do.  I made a paper chain to decorate the animals’ cages. I even got to see a statue of a gorilla.

I went on a carousel and feed the pet goats at the petting zoo.  I made a feeder toy for the elephants.  This is how they exercise their trunks.  They stick their trunks into the feeder toy to get the hay. It was fun going to the zoo.

I went to the reptile house to see a bunch of snakes. There were even snakes that camouflage!  Camouflage means the disguise yourself.  It was really cool seeing snakes and reptiles. I made a camouflage bunny too. I put glue on a piece of paper shaped like a bunny and then put a bunch of pine straw on it.  It looks like it was camouflaged in the dirt. I love that they had so many crafts to do.

I also got to see giraffes.  I fed the giraffes and was able to see their purple tongue!  It was so cool!  They eat leaves for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. It was super tall and was a hundred percent bigger than me.

After the zoo, we went to My Fair Sweets.  I got a milkshake covered with cookies! It was so good My Tia got Strawberry Shortcake and I got Milk and Cookies. It was so delicious!  My day was great!  I always love hanging out with my Tia Chelsea because she likes to have fun, just like me!

I was exhausted by the end of the day!  My Tia said that I had a sugar crash!  It was a great day!

She's All That

Today I went to She’s All That.   It’s a 2-hour program that teaches you about women in black history.  It was at Georgia State University in Atlanta. I went with my friend Kendall.  She is my best friend. My Tia Ashley and Kendall’s mom took us.  It was kind of a long drive.

When I walked in I saw a bunch of flags from around the world.  I saw the Brazilian flag and the Italian flag.

We took some pictures in front of a pretty backdrop that was set up.  I also saw lots of other girls and colorful balloons.

There were separate tables for girls that were different ages and we sat down to get right to work. There were bags with 3 puzzles on the tables with African American women on the puzzles.  We had fun putting the puzzles together.  They were sorta easy to do.

I colored a book with the alphabet and black women.  That was like a scrapbook because I also decorated it with stickers. Kendall’s mom bought a journal, stickers, and some super sticky slime.

I learned about black women and girls that were actresses, musician, and lawyers. There were so many different girls that did so much!  I couldn’t believe it!   Some of my favorites that I learned about was BeyoncĂ© and a girl that started her own lemonade business.

13-year-old Mikaila Ulmer got started selling her lemonade at the age of 4 when she found her grandmother's old recipe books.  She was also stung by a bee twice. She became fascinated with bees and learned all about their importance to the ecosystem.

I want to be just like her and run my own Cafe when I grow up. It's nice to know that there are kid entrepreneurs.

Norah is Here!!

Hey guys!!
I’m so excited!  She looks just like me or that’s what my mom says.
I can’t believe I’m a big sister.
Norah is so little.  My baby doll Susie is bigger than Norah.  I have to be very careful when I hold her because she’s so precious.

See you soon!!

Scavenger Hunt At the Georgia Aquarium

Hey Guys!

My family and I took a trip the the Georgia Aquarium!  It was awesome!  My mom found this cool scavenger hunt online for me to do once I got there!

I could barely focus on the hunt because the fish were so beautiful!

We were also able to see two shows!  One with seals and the other with DOLPHINS!!  Can you believe it?? Dolphins!!!  I wanted to sit in the splash row but my family said  NO WAY!  It was still pretty cool to watch them do tricks!  I also learned some facts about different sea animals.  Did you know that a dolphin is not a fish but a mammal??  That blew my mind!
I hope you get to take a trip to the aquarium one day.  You will have so much fun while learning something new!

Check out my video on Youtube for more awesome pictures!!
See you next time!

What is that???

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

Hey Guys!

I finally used my Bug Jar that I made in Kindergarten!!

I found an insect that looked like a leaf and a cricket!  My dad helped me research it and I learned that it’s called a Katydid!  That’s crazy!!  I also found out that they can be called a long-horned grasshopper or bush cricket!

I learned that Katydids can be green, yellow, or pink!  How cool is that?  A pink Katydid!!

I hope I can find one some day.

Katydids live all over the world except Antarctica.

I found this Katydid living on a tree in my back yard.
I wanted to keep it for a little while but I had to let it back out into the world.  They don’t live very long.

It was exciting to watch him walk back into the woods!

Learning something new everyday!!

South Carolina

I went to Myrtle Beach with my family and had so much fun!  I love spending time with my family.  I was able to see my uncles and aunts and my beautiful cousin Jasmine.  Her name is the same as the princess in Aladdin.

We celebrated my Nana’s birthday too!  My Nana loves going in the ocean as much as I do!

I found lots of seashells in the sand.  My Tia Ashley and Chelsea helped me build a sandcastle!

We went to a place called “House of Blues”.  They had some really cool art on the walls!  They even had shoes on the wall!!

Going to the beach wasn’t even on my list of things to do this summer but I’m sure glad we went!

I can’t wait to go back again!

What’s your favorite beach to visit?
